Visiting Manchester This Autumn? Why You Should Book Your Serviced Accommodation Sooner Not Later Jul 09

Who’s got a place at Manchester University this autumn? Or at UMIST,  Manchester Metropolitan University, the RNCM or any of Manchester’s various centres of higher education?

If you do, congratulations on coming to study at the North West’s premier higher education hub — and surely you won’t have to wait many weeks before parents decide to pay you a visit…

Or, parents: will you be asked to kip on the settee, or will you be checking out serviced apartment accommodation in Manchester before it comes to that?

It gets busy for parental visits

The common delay period on a first visit is around 6 weeks – which is about the right amount of time to not apear too keen, and not a prolonged delay that might let diligent offspring think you have let other priorities get in the way.

This means that in the October/November break, places in Manchester serviced accommodation are in great demand!

As  you are beginning to see, visiting a son or daughter at university in Manchester is hardly simple. Most student homes are, to put it mildly, a bit disorderly—and will get crowded, if brothers and sisters also want to visit.

So if you’ve no desire to unroll your sleeping bag onto the living-room floor, here’s a couple of tips for arranging some  more comfortable accommodation for your Manchester visit.

Stay in comfortable downtown apartment accommodation

Many visits to students are for two- or three-night stays, especially when parents visiting from abroad. It makes the visit worthwhile and gives the opportunity to explore the town and surroundings as well.

Opting for a a stay in a Manchester serviced apartment affords you more value, more space and a wider range of possibilities than staying in a hotel. It means you can relax, cook, do laundry and generally feel at home during your stay.

With a two- or three-bedroom apartment you can also bring along siblings or grandparents to join you and see what student life in Manchester is like in 2011.

And since SACO serviced apartments have washing machines with tumble driers, this even means that the student you are visiting can supply you with that much anticipated gift: a bag of clothes that need washing!

Book a serviced apartment in Manchester

The large number of students arriving in Manchester each year combined with the popularity of a mid-term visit results in a scenario where in late October and November places in Manchester serviced accommodation become scarce.

Instead of waiting until you’re disappointed, speak to a Manchester serviced apartment manager sooner rather than later to get the lowdown on an enjoyable, comfortable stay.

Choosing A Hotel - Don’t Just Look At The Price Jun 05

Choosing a good hotel is always important, whether you be on vacation or traveling for business. Of course, you want to avoid hotels that are poor value for money, overbooked, chaotic and / or do not offer a lot of privacy or security. It is no exaggeration to say that getting the right hotel at the right price can make or break your trip. There are things that you can do to avoid the bad / poor value hotels though, such as considering each of the following before making a booking…

Cleanliness : Always consider cleanliness and sanitation when deciding which hotel to book. It is not at all recommended to try and save money by staying in a hotel that cuts costs by not providing an environment that is 100% healthy and clean environment. No-one enjoys staying in a hotel that is not clean, so do not risk it thinking that “it cannot be that bad”. As a rule of thumb, you can always expect the larger hotel chains to be the cleanest.

Booking Online : Many hotel-booking websites provide you with all the information that you need to know to make your choice before arriving at your destination. If you just turn up without pre-booking then they know that you are desperate for a room and that they can charge their full rate. Most hotels accept online bookings up to 24 hours before arrival, so do not worry if you have left your trip planning late.

Reviews / Testimonials : Online hotel reviews and ratings are a great indicator of what you can expect from a hotel. What you read on the hotel’s own website is of limited use, because they are not going to say anything bad themselves. Just type the name of the hotel plus ‘review’ into a search engine and you will find out all that you need to know.

Coupons : A discount is always welcome and you can get some great ones by getting yourself a coupon book or two from a travel agent or tourist office. Coupons can also be downloaded and printed off from some websites. Savings of 10-50% are not uncommon. Some restrictions are normally in place, but not always.

Low-cost, High style Boutique Hotels in Sydney May 30

Boutique hotels are generally perceived to have small rooms with some standing as simple, single-story cubical structures. There’s a rather obvious advice that you might need to pack light because, chances are, there’s not much space in boutique hotel rooms to store luggage.

But where space is lacking in a seemingly lunar encampment of a boutique hotel set-up, they have lots of flair to spare. Think of minimalist-chic rooms appointed with faux-sheepskin rugs, gauzy white curtains and accented with artsy pieces. These lifestyle hotels are never to miss on adding playful style touches to enhance the clean aesthetics of their rooms.

A number of boutique hotels in Sydney are high on hip appeal, joining the midtown scene with panache. When you check in a boutique hotel in Sydney expect to burst in on some quirks here and there: bathroom walls made of chalkboard, rotary-dial phones in an otherwise modern lobby, or a white stucco space which feels like an unfussy beach shack. How about an oversized hammock in suites? For all individuality employed in the details, boutique hotels are inimitable.

There is no shortage of exciting boutique hotels in Sydney and some gems you can find are situated in excellent locations. It will be to your delight if you can book a room in one of the boutique hotels in Sydney where you can sit in a tub and see the Opera House in full glory. (Oh, please draw the curtains if you don’t want to be an accidental exhibitionist). You can call that ‘a magical relationship between the building and its location, or simply a memorable stay.

Most boutique hotels have compact rooms but are not short in big hotel features such as 42-inch plasma screens and top of the line amenities. But equally you can also find several boutique hotels in Sydney with none of these gadgetries, giving you utter quiet and comfort, as you so wished to experience.

Sydney has also welcomed a run of renovations at existing boutique hotels where some guestrooms have been redone to come up with ample windows. Where there are stellar views of the city, outdoor lounges were added to offer guests excellent views, a new pool deck or, for want of a pleasant alfresco dining, a rooftop bar. Gratify your hang loose sensibilities by staying in a boutique hotel with a bistro that transforms into a raucous lounge or an intimate saloon bar at the strike of 11 p.m.

Budget-conscious travelers are in for surprise because boutique hotels rates are known to be commonly friendly. Boutique accommodation have also earned the liking of some finicky travelers for providing a warm and intimate ‘family affair’ kind of service. ‘Familiar elegance’ - some would call their experience as such staying in a serene, small boutique hotel with thoughtful ways of doing things.

Low-cost, high style boutique hotels in Sydney are pure whimsy but also trendy and chic. Add to the chicness factor is the location of your choice boutique hotel. That would be anywhere in one of Sydney’s exciting neighborhoods.

Blair Castle: Blair Castle can be dated as far back as the 13th century and is the ancient seat of the Earls and Dukes of Atholl. The construction of Blair Castle started in the year twelve sixtynine, under the supervision of the Lord of Badenoch, John I Comyn, a nearby neighbor of the Earl of Atholl. The Earl was away, fighting in the Crusade’s, when John I Comyn began the construction of his castle on his land. When he returned, the Earl complained angrily to the king of Scotland, Alexander III about the interloper, and his lands were returned. Rather than destroying the tower than John I Comyn had built, the Earl decided to merge the tower into his own castle. A Great Hall and a series of vaulted chambers were incorporated into the castle over the centuries, by  subsequent Earls. It was the 2nd Duke of Atholl who, in 1740, decided to redesign the castle as a Georgian Mansion.

The hydro center is situated within the resplendent Pitlochry Power Station, and features interactive displays which trace the history of hydro power in Scotland, starting in the nineteen forties up until the present day. At one time the center of the worldwide lace industry, at the time of the British Empire, the Lace Market is, today, a protected heritage area. Commonly most of us fail to see the many local tourist attractions and yet they are frequently brilliant and more superior than those we see somewhere else. Folk resident in Britain have an astounding list of vacation destinations each having a huge selection of top class visitor attractions to visit. In the following article I describe the English city of York and hotels in York.

The city of York is situated in Yorkshire, north England and was, in the distant past, the capital of a huge kingdom covering most of northern England. In such a historic city it will not come as a great surprise to discover a massive collection of immensely medieval buildings, however you may not expect the breathtaking sight of the Gothic masterpiece of York Minster.

The first incarnation of York Minster was a small wooden church in which King Edwin of Northumbria was baptised in 627. It wasn’t until the time of the Normans that the earliest substantial building made from stone appeared on the site. Constructed by Thomas of Bayeux it was added to by Archbishop Roger who constructed a north transept and a south transept. Following many alterations the cathedral was said to be complete and consecrated in the year 1472. The interior features the biggest medieval stained glass window in the world. York has many other places to visit including; Barley Hall, the Jorvik Viking Centre, Fairfax House, the National Railway Museum, York Castle Museum and York Dungeon.

Besides all of the fantastic ancient and historic attractions discussed earlier, the city of York is an exciting city to go out partying in or enjoy live music. It that doesn’t thrill you then you could spend the evening in a pub there are certainly masses to choose from, including; The Bluebell Inn, The York Arms, The Royal Oak, The Bluebell Inn and the Slug and Lettuce, and, lastly, the Black Swan. Out of all the pubs the Black Swan is more than likely the best with a superb atmosphere and sometimes having live music.

York Bed And Breakfast

Like many other cities in the UK you will discover a huge selection of York B&B ranging from budget guest houses to luxury hotels. The Middlethorpe Hall hotel is just 2 miles from the city centre but offers excellent bed and breakfast with private gardens, sauna, steam room and gym, and you can even get a massage. Other excellent York hotels include; Burn Hall Hotel, Marriott on Tadcaster Road, Parsonage Country House Hotel and Bishops at 135 Holgate Road and one of the finest guest houses is Crossways Guest House, or if you are looking for something different why not investigate Marmadukes Boutique Hotel.
