This resort incorporates all the usual features you would expect plus a number of attractions peculiar to the area, e.g. {Sand hills for sliding | giant sand hills with all sorts of activities - sand boarding, sliding and surfing}, dolphin feeding, {swimming and snorkelling | snorkelling and swimming} around the {wrecks | sunken ship wrecks}, scenic hill climbing and much more. Remnants of the whaling era are still {in existence | here} in the form of the flensing deck in its original condition, which is part of the Tangalooma Island resort.

{The next place not | Moving on and not} to be missed is Dunwich on North Stradbroke Island, a very {interesting and historic | historic and interesting} settlement. Be sure to visit the {bakery | island bakery} and the {boat | yacht} club whilst the  cemetery will {transport | take} you back in time to the convict era.

Further south are the residential islands of {Macleay and Russell | Russell and Macleay} Islands. Well worth the {trip | visit} and a wander around to {absorb | take in} the island lifestyle. Coochiemudlo and St.Helena Islands are also {there | must see places} to visit and each has its own historical attractions and reasons to visit. The ferry to Coochiemudlo {leaves | departs} Victoria Point from the mainland every half hour and you can take your {bicycles | bikes}.  There is a small {food | take away food} outlet for {lunch or snacks | something to eat} and there are BBQ’s and picnic areas if you prefer to take your own.
 
{Of course not to be missed and last but by no means least | The most famous of all the Moreton Bay Islands} are the North and South Stradbroke Islands. North is accessed through the afore mentioned Dunwich with the bonus of being serviced by a car ferry. This enables you to drive and explore the island in the comfort of your own car. The South Island can be accessed by either ferry to the Couran Cove Resort or water taxi to the Tipplers area.

The Moreton Bay Islands are considered rich in history and a fundamental pillar of Brisbane’s society.

You may take {hire | rental} cars onto some of the Moreton Bay islands but always check with the car rental companies prior to doing so.
